Some writers get story ideas from dreams while other writers base their stories on personal experience.  There’s so much going on in the world around you and with the Internet, news, and newspapers we now know what’s going on in the “other side of the world” every minute of the day.  Because of this there are endless possibilities of story ideas available to you.I got the idea for my story “I Remember Cubaafter hearing about my aunt Merle being detained in Cuba for several years although she was married with four children living in Jamaica. During this time there was also a lot of new stories about  Castro and Cuba.

Open up yourself to the world around you and always carry a notebook just in case you get an idea and in no time you’ll have a  idea for a great story.
