As you can see by my past book reviews I don’t like to write too much information about the teen books I review.  I just finished Michael Grant’s novel, Gone.  Gone is about a small town on the coast of California.  One day everyone over the age of fourteen just disappears and a barrier appears around the town trapping everyone inside.  No one can come or leave and no one knows what happened.

Sam Temple and his friends try to figure things out but never get a chance because a gang of bullies take over the town and everything goes crazy and to make things worse, a pack of talking coyotes who are being controlled by an unknown being decide to attack their town and kill the children who are being taken care of at the preschool.  Gone is the first book in the five book series. It’s like Lord of the Flies, meets, Left Behind, and throw in the X-Men while you’re at it because not only do people disappear and form alliances but some of the kids develop special powers too.

Great book.  I can’t wait to read Hunger, the next book in the series.
