Best friends!

Writing the best friend.  Just about every protagonist has someone they can count on.  Best friends are usually much different from the protagonist.  With best friends it’s about opposites.  Blond verses brunette,  boy crazy verses the single friend, however this isn’t always the rule sometimes the protagonist and the best friend also a single gal but one thing is for sure if they do find love it’s never at the same time.  They rarely like the same type of guy.  And best friends often replace parents who are never around.

When creating a best friend think about why this friend is needed.  Does the friend need exist to help the protagonist overcome an obstacle?  Best friends help to make the protagonist evolve.  All characters even the best friends have to there there for a reason.
