Writer’s Stop (Photo credit: Stephh922)

One thing that I learned over my years of being a writer is that having a full life and being involved in the arts has helped me become a better writer.  When I was in film school.  I had to take acting classes.  Those classes taught me more about character and understanding what it takes an actor to become a character.  Writers need to know so many things about the characters they create and most of what they know doesn’t end up on the page.  It sits inside the writer’s head.  It’s those things that influence the characters that they create.

I’ve met many types of people and artist types are usually very feel in expressing what they think and believe.  Get out there and allow yourself to learn about art, people, and I bet your writing and the characters you create will be wonderfully formed people.
