What I’m Reading

Standard

I just started reading Legend by Marie Lu. I’ve wanted to read this book for a while. The book is a dystopian novel about a girl named June who lives in a new America. In this version of America, the US is a militarized nation where children enter the military at a young age. June is a child prodigy who’s highly skilled in tracking fugitives and investigating crimes.

Day is a teenaged boy who is the most wanted criminal. After breaking into a hospital in order to steal life-saving drugs for his family who’s infected by the plague he becomes the number one suspect in the murder of June’s brother.

The worlds between the rich and poor are clearly divided. The rich join the military while the poor join the workforce.  So far it’s pretty exciting.

The story’s told from June’s and Day’s point of view. Lu uses different text and titles to let us know who’s point of view we are following. I’ll let you know more when I finish. What are you reading? If you’re not sure check my Books You’ll Love list and find one to check out! Happy reading.
